Questionnarie

First of all I would like to say that I really enjoy asking unknown people about our culture. This experience helped me to realize how is our culture and what we really know about it. While I was asking, I tryed to see poeple's faces, their expressions / gestures gave me more information. For instance, a couple reacted in a odd way. When I asked Can you define culture?

Their gestures were like: what are you talking about? in fact one of them told me that nobody have asked him that question before. Some of them, reacted like: why are asking me that silly question? like: who is the president? oviously M.Bachellet ! (they answered)but they hesitated. In general, I could analize how influenced by different factors people are! When I asked history questions they made their best to remember what his/her teacher said in high school, because they did not want to look stupid... After all, I learned a lot from them and from me. Some of their answers were the same if someone would have asked me .............. So, let´s reflect

Culture and civilization

First of all we have to be aware of that these two words are related each other. As everyone knows Culture is a big word, because it has different meanings for different persons. In my point of view, I see culture as a way of living. Every little group has a culture. Hoever there is something that almost everyone ignores is that every culture has its own sub culture. In that way, every country has a culture, where there are regions where there are other cultures, even in any family ther is a unique culture. So, any group of people has ots own culture which involves a way of thinking and seeing with different habits. But how can we conect this with civilization?

Civilization is the organization that a group of people achieve to organize their way of living in citizenship. This oranization is very difficult to achieve, for that reason there are some people in charge of this important issue. Goverment has to do with this. If we do not have this organization would be so difficult to live together.

These two key words are essential to this course. Inside this civilization (organization) there are many cultures and subcultures so they are related each other. What it is important here is that cultures are crusial to this democratic organization, otherwise it will fail...
